Castino’s Exterior Painting Service
We are the experts for exterior painting, staining and repairing. We’ve been helping homeowners on the North Shore and Chicago area since 1974.
The general rule in color selection for the exterior of your home is to choose three colors: one for body, one for trim and a third for accents, such as doors and shutters. For trim, a reliable choice is a lighter or darker shade in the same color family. Simply move up or down two or three shades on the color strip from which the body color was selected. Accent colors draw the eye. They are used most often to highlight doors, shutters and the “gingerbread” trimming on Victorian and other ornate houses.
Not sure what materials or colors to use? Please give us a call! Our expert color consultants will give advice on color choice and design. Take a look at our Exterior Painting and Stucco portfolio. You may get a new idea for your home! We also have a computer color simulator where a digital picture is taken of your home and we can colorize it in any color scheme you desire. This is a fantastic tool to take the guess work out of what your house will look like. Ask your estimator for more details!
A message about lead paint and the new EPA Mandate
We want to advise our customers of the new EPA mandated Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) program that went into effect on 4/22/10 and updated on 7/1/10. The program aims to protect against lead-based paint hazards associated with renovation, repair and painting activities. This program mandates that contractors working in homes and child-occupied facilities built before 1978 be trained and certified in lead-safe work practices. We assure you that Castino has been “lead certified” and we are following all of the EPA rules and regulations. Our Certification Number is NAT-19937-1. As of 7/1/10, homeowners cannot opt out of this mandate. Castino has the right to refuse any job dealing with lead paint. Non-compliance carries a $32,500 fine for contractors. Please call us with any questions or concerns.
