One of the biggest ways to make a house a home is to give the exterior a facelift with a new coat of paint. At Castino Painting and Home Services, we’ve provided exterior home painting services to homeowners in Northbrook as well as across Chicago and the North Shore.

Exterior Home Painting

When you’re choosing colors for your home’s exterior, you’ll want to pick two or three shades. Typically, people will choose one color for the body, then a second color for the trim. The second color is usually a few shades darker or lighter than the body color. If you want some contrast, you can use a third color for accents, such as the door and the shutters.

Because painting the exterior of your home can be daunting, especially when it comes to choosing the right colors, we’re happy to offer professional color consulting. Our on-staff color experts will use technology to take photos of your home and apply the paint colors you’re considering to the photos virtually, so that you can visualize what the finished project will look like before you commit to anything. This makes the process of choosing colors a lot less nerve-racking.

A message about lead paint and the new EPA Mandate
A new EPA mandated Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) program went into effect on 4/22/10 and was updated on 7/1/10. This program is designed to protect against lead-based paint hazards associated with renovation, repair and painting. This program mandates that contractors working in homes and child-occupied facilities built before 1978 be trained and certified in lead-safe work practices. Castino has been “lead certified” and we are following all EPA rules and regulations. Our Certification Number is NAT-19937-1. As of 7/1/10, homeowners cannot opt out of this mandate. Castino has the right to refuse any job dealing with lead paint. Non-compliance carries a $32,500 fine for contractors. Please call us with any questions or concerns.
